Change of heart: Chip Kelly agrees to become head coach of Eagles

Ten days ago, Chip Kelly was off the market and headed back to the University of Oregon after testing the NFL coaching waters with a handful of teams, including the Philadelphia Eagles. Today, he changed his mind and accepted the Eagles' head coaching position.
"Chip Kelly will be an outstanding head coach for the Eagles," owner Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement. "He has a brilliant football mind. He motivates his team with his actions as well as his words. He will be a great leader for us and will bring a fresh, energetic approach to our team."
An introductory press conference is scheduled for Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Eastern.
Kelly went 46-7 in four seasons as the head coach of the Ducks.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Eagles end up with the man they wanted all along. It's just curious how it all came to be, and I'm sure someone will ask Kelly tomorrow why he decided to leave Oregon after it looked like he was coming back less than two weeks ago. I can only imagine how upset the people in Eugene, Ore. are feeling today.
Anyway, I am really looking forward to seeing what Kelly and his offense can do in the pros. He certainly has a lot of speed at his disposal with DeSean Jackson @DeseanJackson10, LeSean McCoy @CutonDime25, Jeremy Maclin @jmac_18 and Bryce Brown @BryceBrown_34. Michael Vick @MikeVick is a much more natural fit for Kelly's offense than Nick Foles, who admittedly has never been a zone-read quarterback at any level. But Kelly knows a lot about Foles, a former Arizona Wildcat, and spoke very highly of him when both were in the Pac-12. We'll see what route Kelly and the Eagles choose at QB.
