Alabama RB Eddie Lacy won't work out at combine due to hamstring injury

Alabama running back Eddie Lacy might very well be the first runner selected in April's draft and the only one who hears his name called during the first round. But he won't be showing off his skills at the NFL combine this weekend. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Lacy has dropped out of the combine after suffering a "small tear in some tissue around his hamstring while training last week." Lacy hopes to be healthy in time for Alabama's pro day on March 13.

Fantasy Analysis:

I am not a draftnik, but Lacy is one of the biggest names for fantasy football owners to track from now through the draft. He's a stocky player at 6 foot, 220 pounds, but if you watched him perform against Georgia in the SEC Championship game and Notre Dame in the national title game, it's obvious that he is much more than a short-yardage runner. He will have immediate fantasy value as a rookie, the range of which will depend on where he lands. This hamstring injury should have zero impact on his acclimation to the pros.
