UPDATE: Vikings agree to trade WR Percy Harvin to Seahawks

NFL free agency begins tomorrow, but the biggest story of a player changing teams during the offseason may have happened today. According to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, the Vikings have agreed to trade top wideout Percy Harvin @Percy_Harvin to the Seahawks. Minnesota will receive undisclosed draft picks in return, and the trade will become final once Harvin passes a physical.

Update: The Vikings will reportedly receive the Seahawks' first-round pick (25th overall) and seventh-round pick this year. They will also get a middle-round pick in 2014. Not bad. Also, multiple reports state that Harvin will sign a long-term contract with Seattle soon, possibly within the next 24 hours.

Fantasy Analysis:

Wow. Vikings general manager Rick Spielman had repeatedly denied reports that the team was looking to trade their best receiver, but this is why a lot of what coaches and GMs say should be taken with a grain of salt.
For Seattle, this is a huge move. That offense is so dynamic now, defenses will be having fits against the Seahawks. You can plan to stop Harvin, but that is going to leave lanes open for Marshawn Lynch @MoneyLynch. Golden Tate @ShowtimeTate and Sidney Rice @sidneyrice are very solid complementary receivers, too. And it's all being run by a dual-threat QB in Russell Wilson @DangeRussWilson.
This deal helps Harvin's fantasy value, because he'll be playing with a more stable quarterback, but he would have been in the top 12 at that position to start next season even if he had remained in Minnesota. Lynch's stock also gets a slight nudge up. Wilson gets the biggest boost. This offense is filled with tremendous options with different strengths. If Wilson can stay healthy, he may be a top-5 fantasy quarterback by the end of next season.
For the Vikings, well, their receiving corps is are awfully weak. Jerome Simpson and Devin Aromashodu are free agents, and no other wide receiver on that roster has more than 25 career receptions. The one intriguing player there is Jarius Wright @Jay_wright4, who put together some nice games during the second half of last season while Harvin was injured. He is looking like their No. 1 WR right now, which says a lot. It shouldn't stay that way for long; the Vikings need to focus on wide receiver help in the draft and free agency.
