Vikings re-sign WR Jerome Simpson

Vikings re-sign WR Jerome Simpson

Jerome Simpson @rome081's first season with the Vikings was terrible. But they are going to give him another run. The Vikings and Simpson agreed to a one-year deal on Tuesday, news that was first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter. Simpson caught just 26 passes in 12 games and scored no touchdowns last year.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Vikings like Simpson's athleticism and the fact that he is in his athletic prime at age 27. But really, Simpson was a complete bust in 2012 and is not a dependable wideout. The Vikings have a lot of work to do at wide receiver after trading away Percy Harvin. How much work? Right now, Simpson is probably their No. 1 WR. I guess it's a (slow) start, but he is best deployed as a reserve. And for fantasy purposes, he should not be on many draft boards. Simpson will sprinkle in a couple of good games, but he will disappear more often than not.
