Chiefs give QB Chase Daniel 3-year contract

Chase Daniel @ChaseDaniel is playing in Missouri once again, this time as a pro. The former University of Missouri quarterback signed a three-year deal with the Chiefs on Tuesday. He played the role of Drew Brees' backup for the past three seasons and has thrown a total of nine passes during his NFL career. He entered the league in 2009 as an undrafted free agent.

Fantasy Analysis:

Well, maybe not. Alex Smith is the man in Kansas City, but according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, Daniel's deal is likely worth more than $3 million per season. That tells you the Chiefs and head coach Andy Reid must really like something about Daniel, who hasn't done anything in four years to earn that much money. So, perhaps this move is worth remembering in dynasty leagues. Daniel has no value this season, barring an injury to Smith.
