Texans cut bait on WR Kevin Walter

One of the earliest moves during Tuesday's wild day of roster movement around the NFL was one of the most obvious. The Texans let go of wide receiver Kevin Walter, who had been with the team since 2006. Walter was due to make $3.15 million this season, but the Texans cleared $2.5 million in cap space by cutting him. Walter, who has been the Texans' No. 2 wideout since 2007, caught just 41 passes for 518 yards and two touchdowns last season.

Fantasy Analysis:

Walter is entering his age-32 season, and although he has blocking skills that some team will covet, he's just not very productive any longer. The Texans desperately need a more explosive option in their starting lineup next to Andre Johnson. Lestar Jean or Keshawn Martin @KeshawnMartin82 could be that man, but they haven't shown it consistently yet. The Texans are likely to add a notable wide receiver shortly.
