Raiders fans have a new name to know for that inevitable time when Darren McFadden gets injured. Oakland signed former Jaguars running back Rashad Jennings to a one-year deal on Wednesday. He has spent all of his four-year career acting as the backup to Maurice Jones-Drew.
Jennings is a good player, but he has been done in by serious injuries the past two seasons. A concussion finished him off last year, and he missed all of the 2011 season due to a torn ACL. But he's got good size and can catch. Marcel Reece , who really broke out over a month's time last season, is a very good receiver as well, but the Raiders would like to use him only on passing downs. Jennings will take over the role that once belonged to Mike Goodson, who signed with the Jets last month. Jennings, 28, will be the handcuff here to start this season. Considering whom he is backing up, Jennings will always be a player to watch.
