In January, Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew said he expected to be healed from his foot surgery and cleared by late May or early June. More than two months later, it sounds like Jones-Drew is right on track.
"I just got back to Jacksonville a couple weeks ago from school, just have been rehabbing every day and getting used to the offseason program," Jones-Drew said in an NFL Network interview on Thursday. "I'll be back at full speed by probably the end of May, beginning of June, and I just can't wait to get back out there and play."
Jones-Drew underwent surgery on his left foot for what did turn out to be a Lisfranc fracture on Dec. 28.
Just checking in. Nothing much to see here. We were in the dark for a long time about whether Jones-Drew had suffered a simple fracture or one of the Lisfranc variety. It wasn't really confirmed until a few weeks ago. A Lisfranc fracture is tougher to come back from than a regular foot fracture, but it sounds like MJD is recovering well. I expect him to still have a heavy workload this year, and I think he will be undervalued in fantasy drafts.
