Redskins WR Pierre Garcon: 'I can't say I'll be 100 percent' this season

A torn ligament in Pierre Garcon @PierreGarcon's right foot caused him trouble for most of the 2012 season, and he said Wednesday that it may keep him from entering the 2013 season fully healthy.
"I'll be healthy enough to play," Garcon said in an NFL Network interview. "I can't say I'll be 100 percent, but I'll be back out there helping the team in any way possible."
Garcon decided against undergoing surgery because he had been given no guarantees from doctors that surgery would fix the problem. He suffered the injury in the first quarter of last season's first game. He ended up missing six games and was clearly limited in a few others. Once Thanksgiving came around, Garcon found a way to put mind over matter as he went on a streak of three straight games with a touchdown and averaged 85.8 yards per game from Weeks 12-16.

Fantasy Analysis:

Just because Garcon doesn't want to have the surgery doesn't mean he won't need to have it later. There is the very real risk that he could make the problem worse and end up on the shelf for a long time. If quarterback Robert Griffin III is healthy by Week 1, Garcon can be a WR2. If you want to own Garcon this year, just keep thinking about how good he was for periods of November and December with the injury. But he has a huge red flag on his back. It is unclear how much participation he will have during Redskins' OTAs.
