Trent Richardson fractured multiple ribs in Week 6 last season, but he played through the pain for the most part. While that injury occurred six months ago, Richardson has told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer that he "might always have to deal with some lingering pain." However, Richardson said he will be otherwise healthy for training camp.
Cabot also added this line in her Sunday column: "(Head coach Rob) Chudzinski stressed that Richardson won't have to carry the load by himself this year and that the club will change it up with Montario Hardesty, Chris Ogbonnaya and now newcomer Dion Lewis."
First of all, one of those RBs probably won't be in Cleveland by the time the season starts. Secondly, this new regime would be foolish to shy away from using Richardson as much as possible, as long as he's upright. They will rest him at times, but they won't "change it up" and get cute. Richardson is an RB1 entering his sophomore year.
