Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez underwent shoulder surgery during the offseason, an operation that was reportedly deemed to be a minor scope. But according to ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss, Hernandez will be in the recovery phase for a major period of time.
According to Reiss, "word is" Hernandez will need about four months to get his shoulder back to 100 percent, and it's possible that he will be put on the Physically Unable To Perform list when training camp begins in July.
However, no one seems concerned right now about this affecting Hernandez's chances of playing in games that matter. He is expected to be ready for the regular season, barring any setbacks, and could be a spectacular fantasy producer if he can stay on the field for a full season. But yeah, dude gets hurt quite often.
