Titans HC Mike Munchak says there is a lot of pressure on QB Jake Locker this season

Last season was Jake Locker's first as an NFL starter coming out of training camp. Inconsistent play and shoulder injuries marred it. But now entering his third year, it's time for Locker to show why Tennessee drafted him eighth overall in 2011. If you don't think there is pressure on Locker in 2013, just listen to his head coach, Mike Munchak.
"Two years ago, we made the decision on a quarterback that we felt was going to lead this team to the Super Bowl," Munchak said of Locker to The Tennessean. "Now, it's up to us to surround him with people that can help him do that. I think we are doing that. ... Obviously he's excited, but he understands that there is a lot on him, too. He needs to have a good year and he's doing everything he can to do that."
Since drafting Locker, the Titans have used a first-round pick and a second-round pick on wide receivers -- Kendall Wright and Justin Hunter. They also have marquee talents such as Kenny Britt and running back Chris Johnson around him.

Fantasy Analysis:

Yeah, I'm still calling Britt a marquee talent. People may give up on him because of all of the injury and off-the-field issues, and that's fair. But if he stays healthy, he can take over games.
But this is about Locker. Munchak is right; it's time for Jake to prove his worth. He has good receivers around him, and a great running back. Plus, Tennessee spent their first pick this year on a guard to protect Locker. Do I think he is going to have a huge season? No. I don't know what the Titans' brass specifically expects out of Locker, but he still has big flaws as a passer. But he should be able to improve on his past numbers by wide margins. He's a low-end QB2 right now, but the upside, especially if the Titans implement more zone-read plays, which they said they will, is worth a gamble later on in your draft.
