According to the Texans' official website, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been looking every bit the part of a first-round pick during rookie minicamp. HoustonTexans.com's Nick Scurfield wrote that Hopkins "caught seemingly everything thrown his way" this weekend, including some highlight grabs.
"He's special," head coach Gary Kubiak said of Hopkins on Sunday. "Ball skills are extremely special. Very long; long arms. Big hands; you saw the catch he made out here today. He's going to help us early, and we know that, and that's why we brought him here."
Kubiak simply loves Hopkins. He has already compared the rookie to Rod Smith, who Kubiak coached while in Denver from 1995, Smith's rookie year, through 2005. And Kubiak has said that he expects Hopkins to be a Week 1 starter. It is certainly shaping up that way. Hopkins could be a nice value as a mid-round pick in standard leagues.
