Jets considering life without QB Mark Sanchez

The rumors continue to swirl that the New York Jets are weighing their options on what to do with quarterback Mark Sanchez @Mark_Sanchez. Peter King of Sports Illustrated said he "wouldn't be remotely surprised if the Jets traded [Sanchez] for a low-round draft pick or cut him before Week 1." As has been discussed, the problem in moving on for the Jets is Sanchez's contract. Brian Costello of the New York Post thinks the Jets could agree to pay a large portion of his salary, which includes $8.75 million guaranteed.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Jets made the dumbest mistake for their franchise when they locked up Sanchez with a five-year deal worth $58.25 million and $20.5 million guaranteed. You may think, well, he probably signed that deal a couple seasons ago, right? No. Sanchez signed the bottom line in March 2012. There's no good reason to stick with him any longer. David Garrard @davidgarrard9, if healthy, can perform just as well and Smith is the future. Why waste time and money by sticking with Sanchez for yet another wasted season? This team really needs to turn over a new leaf. Fantasy owners should stay away from this offense, unless they can grab Chris Ivory.

This is not the first time Chris Ivory's name has come up. Where does his value lie in a 12 team non-PPR league.
