Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski favors down-the-field offense. The same goes for offensive coordinator Norv Turner. Josh Gordon is a down-the-field receiver, and Brandon Weeden can throw it down the field. So what Gordon said Thursday to Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal shouldn't actually come as shocking.
"Defenses will be shocked to say the least with how much we're running down the field," Gordon said. "I've never ran this much as a wide receiver ever in my life, and that's a good thing. And not just me, everyone from the slot guys to the running backs, everyone's got passing plays in the system."
Greg Little is running more deep routes, and running backs are reportedly catching a lot of passes in OTAs. This has all the makings of a big-play offense as long as Weeden gets enough time to throw and makes positive strides in accuracy in his second year.
