Saints wide receiver Joseph Morgan was arrested early Saturday morning for allegedly driving while intoxicated and driving without a license. According to the police report, via the New Orleans Times-Picayune, a Louisiana State Trooper found Morgan asleep behind the wheel of his disabled vehicle on the shoulder of an expressway near New Orleans. When the trooper woke Morgan and asked him to step out of the vehicle, the player allegedly smelled of alcohol, was swaying on his feet and had bloodshot eyes. Morgan later registered a 0.218 blood-alcohol level, nearly three times the legal limit. He was released later that day on a $1,150 bond.
This might hurt Morgan's chances of becoming a breakout player in 2013, but it's too soon to tell. Although many leagues and teams don't treat this kind of offense as seriously as they should, a suspension seems unlikely. Morgan is expected to be the Saints' No. 3 WR this year.
