Buried deep in the Peter King's latest edition of Monday Morning Quarterback is a nugget about the Jaguars trying to design some plays for a couple of explosive rookies.
"I think I'm hearing the Jags have some very interesting offensive wrinkles set to try with fourth-round pick Ace Sanders and fifth-rounder Denard Robinson ," King wrote. "Sanders could be a lesser Tavon Austin, and Robinson could be a Kordell Stewart-slash kind of player."
The comparison of Sanders to Austin is interesting but not particularly apt since the former isn't nearly as straight-line fast as the latter. Robinson was a quarterback in college, but he won't see much if any time there in the pros, so the Stewart comp is a little off as well. But both of these players will be used in various spots on the field and are big-play threats. I just don't think either of them will get enough touches per game to matter much in standard leagues this year.
