Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger underwent knee surgery six days ago. No one was overly concerned about the procedure, which called for his right meniscus to be repaired. Roethlisberger is expected to be fine for training camp and, yeah, he is coming along just fine.
"It feels great," Roethlisberger said about his knee Tuesday via Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I saw [Dr. James Bradley] this morning. He was pleasantly surprised with the range of motion and where we're at with the swelling. It feels great. I've been off crutches for a couple of days now and moving around pretty good. I think I could play Sunday if I had to."
Good to know. Roethlisberger threw 26 touchdowns and committed only 11 turnovers in 13 games last season. But the loss of Mike Wallace and the amount of high-quality QBs this year have Big Ben sitting in the QB2 range.
The quarterback position in 2013 fantasy football: It's stupid deep.
