Being named Most Valuable Player in June isn't exactly met with the same fanfare as being named in February. But if the Rams were to hand out their own MVP honors to a player for his work in the spring, it would go to wide receiver Austin Pettis , according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Jim Thomas. He wrote that among all of the Rams' receivers, it was Pettis who stood out the most during practices open to the media. Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has seen it the same way, saying that Pettis is "having the best camp of all the skill players."
Perhaps Pettis will develop some appeal in standard leagues if he keeps it up during August and gains a starting gig. Right now, more is expected out of Tavon Austin, Chris Givens, Jared Cook and Brian Quick -- and that's being represented by ADP charts in fantasy drafts. Pettis has more value in PPR leagues as he is a volume receiver, but more than anything else, Pettis is another reason why I covet Sam Bradford this year.
