'Pitching the ball to Ravens TE Dennis Pitta almost seems to be QB Joe Flacco's default mode now'

The Ravens are a long way from figuring out who will be their No. 2 wide receiver at the open of the season. As that battle continues, quarterback Joe Flacco @TeamFlacco doesn't have a lot of receivers he knows he can depend on. But one is tight end Dennis Pitta, and the connection those two had during last week's mandatory minicamp was very strong, according to John Eisenberg of the Ravens' official website.
"Joe Flacco looked like the accomplished veteran he has become, very much in command," Eisenberg wrote "And there's no doubt his favorite target is tight end Dennis Pitta. Pitching the ball to Pitta almost seems to be Flacco's default mode now. the two are best friends off the field and have a keen rapport on it. You can't manufacture that, but it would be nice to see Flacco develop the same caliber of rapport with another downfield target."

Fantasy Analysis:

Well, there's Torrey Smith. Past that, again, you can't blame Flacco from somewhat shying away from his other wide receivers; it is mostly a group of young players who have yet to stand out in the NFL and have not had the time to develop such a link with Flacco. Pitta caught 61 passes for 669 yards and seven touchdowns last year. If he and Flacco continue to showcase in the fall what they have shown in the summer, those numbers, especially receptions and receiving yards, should be eclipsed. Pitta is a TE1.
