Rams RB Isaiah Pead working on pass protection

Dennis Dillon of SI.com talked to Rams running back Isaiah Pead @iPead recently about his "miserable" rookie season, and what he is doing to improve in 2013. Pead said he is trying to erase all mistakes from his game, and he is putting a focus on pass blocking.
"Yeah, definitely. Body position," Pead said. "I'm not the biggest guy, so I need every inch. Body position is the number one thing I need, and the physical part will take care of itself. You've got to be a willing blocker."

Fantasy Analysis:

Blocking limitations keep a lot of running backs off the field early in their career, so it's good to hear that Pead is concentrating on that area. He has been suspended for the first game of the regular season after an arrest for possession of marijuana last year, but he will get his chances to take hold of this running game, especially in training camp.
I wrote early this morning that my guess is rookie Zac Stacy will end up with most of the carries on first and second downs while Daryl Richardson is the change-of-pace back. I am not dismissing Pead, but after a poor showing as a rookie, all of the moping he did when describing the season, and his suspension, you have to wonder if he has the mentality to be successful in this league. Is he mentally tough enough? Does he have the drive? These events have made me skeptical.
Of course, there is still a decent chance that head coach Jeff Fisher's recent vision on his ground attack comes true: "I could see the ball being handed of to three, even four guys (in a given game." If that's the case, it would be difficult to feel comfortable drafting any of these players.
