Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew is still not a sure bet to be present when the Jaguars kick off their first padded practice of training camp on July 31. But one Jaguars coach has a feeling that Jones-Drew will be in attendance on that day. According to Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union, running backs coach Terry Richardson said Thursday that he has "faith and confidence" the three-time All-Pro will be in pads at the end of this month.
Jones-Drew underwent foot surgery for a Lisfranc fracture back in December. He said a couple of weeks ago that his foot feels great.
Richardson's words sound more like positive thinking than the result of any inside information. But that seems to be the growing opinion around MJD: He will be ready for camp, either from the very start or not too long after that. You should feel pretty safe about drafting him as an RB2 in the second or third round.
