Fantasy owners who may have been backing off of Marshawn Lynch during drafts out of fear that he might be suspended during the season can now forget about that. At a Thursday pre-trial hearing regarding Lynch's DUI arrest in July 2012, it was decided that Lynch won't face a jury until Dec. 27. Lynch has pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of .08. A league suspension, if warranted, won't come until the legal process has concluded, and Dec. 27 is two days before the Seahawks' regular-season finale against the Rams.
In other words, fantasy owners don't need to worry about a Lynch suspension impacting the fantasy season. It's ridiculous that a man won't stand trial for a possible DUI until more than 17 months after the matter, but you know the justice system in this country isn't exactly speedy. Lynch remains a first-round pick in every type of league.
