Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin hoping for breakout season in HC Chip Kelly's offense

Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin @jmac_18 had a decent stat line last season -- 69 catches, 857 yards, seven touchdowns. Each of those numbers led the team, but they don't stand out much. That's kind of how Maclin's career has gone. While he has a healthy 26 touchdowns in four years, he has never topped 70 receptions or 1,000 yards. But Maclin thinks that could change this season because of head coach Chip Kelly's offense, one Maclin believes will be more balanced than what the Eagles ran in previous years. Specifically Andy Reid and Marty Mornhinweg's West Coast Offense was tailored around the flanker receiver, which was usually DeSean Jackson @DeseanJackson10.
"I'm going to be honest, the last offense was geared to the position that D-Jack played," Maclin said via Reuben Frank of CSN Philly. "That's just what it was. That's just what it was. So the fact that I was able to personally accomplish what I accomplished, I think as far as the position I was playing, I think that's above what that guy normally does."
Frank adds that "now that it appears the offense will be more balanced, [Maclin] thinks he's capable of a true bust-out year."

Fantasy Analysis:

I don't doubt that. With Kelly in town, there is reason to believe many Eagles could have huge seasons. I just don't know what to expect out of this offense, so I don't feel confident enough to plant my flag on any one player. Maclin has been more durable and consistent than Jackson if not more productive over the past few years. I would certainly draft Maclin first among the two, but both guys are WR3 candidates at best.
