Not all possible four-game suspensions for violating NFL policy are equal. Case in point, when one of those suspensions could land on Broncos OLB and premier pass rusher Von Miller , which is what ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting. The second overall pick in the 2012 draft has 30 sacks over his two NFL seasons including 18.5 last year, ranking third in the league.
While Peyton Manning dominates the Denver-related headlines, Miller dominates would-be pass protectors and is the lynchpin for John Fox's defense. Let's also not forgot that because of a clerical error, the Broncos lost DE Elvis Dumerville this offseason, meaning for at least four games Denver would be without 29.5 sacks from last season's AFC West winning squad. Should this report prove true - Schefter's rarely go the other way and as a former Broncos' beat writer he's connected to all things Denver - this is obviously a huge blow. Then again, four games isn't the season and with that passing game, the Broncos have other ways to win. If the suspension starts with Week 1, Miller would miss matchups against the Ravens and Giants. As for fantasy, Miller is a top-20 IDP option. Even with a suspension, his value shouldn't drop tons considering sacks are to find; take away one-quarter of his sack total and Miller would still have finished fifth in the league last season.
