Ravens TE Dennis Pitta has dislocated hip, ruled out for Week 1

The Ravens will be without tight end Dennis Pitta for at least the first game of the regular season and maybe longer. Head coach John Harbaugh said Pitta suffered a dislocated hip during Saturday's practice. He sustained the injury in a collision with safety James Ihedigbo in the back of the end zone. The Ravens face the Broncos in the season's first game, Sept. 5.

Fantasy Analysis:

So, the kickoff game is already out of the picture for Pitta, and it's far from assured that he will be back for Week 2. This news should drop his ADP by about 3-4 rounds. More importantly, it's a massive hit to the Ravens' offense. Pitta was considered the team's second-best target for Joe Flacco @TeamFlacco, a great safety blanket, and a top-six tight end in fantasy. Now, Ed Dickson @EdDickson84 steps in to replace him, but isn't close to being the natural receiver that Pitta is. We can only hope that he returns by the middle of September, which is about seven weeks away.
Flacco looks more and more like a mid-range QB2. And much like the Jeremy Maclin news, this could mean more receptions for the running backs, specifically Ray Rice @RayRice27.
