Redskins TE Fred Davis feeling good, trying to build connection with QB Robert Griffin III

Redskins tight end Fred Davis has rebounded from his 2012 Achilles rupture and has been practicing with his teammates since the start of training camp. A few days in, he hasn't experienced any setbacks.
"This is day six now, and I haven't had any pain in it," Davis said Tuesday. "I've been going full-go, blocking, running routes, cutting. I feel really good. Just the only soreness I feel is just camp soreness just a little bit. Other than that, I feel pretty good."
Davis called the Redskins offense "tight-end friendly," but Davis fantasy owners probably didn't think it was friendly enough last year as he caught just 24 passes and did not score. But before his injury, Davis saw his rapport with quarterback Robert Griffin III growing. Now, with both men coming back from surgery, Davis is trying to reconnect with Griffin.
"We really started to really click a little more around game three, four, five, six and then seven is when I got hurt," Davis said. "As far as clicking right now, I mean, we throw and catch, but I still feel like we're not really in the game-type situation yet. He's not really practicing in team and all that stuff yet, so until then I feel like I can be able to answer that question."

Fantasy Analysis:

Assuming his cutting ability and quickness returns to previous levels after the Achilles surgery, Davis can still be a mismatch against many defenders. But besides questions about his physical state, we need to see more production from him with Griffin under center. It just wasn't there last year. Fantasy owners can consider Davis a deep TE2.

This is an extremely important article - if Davis CAN get on the same page and teach RG3 the value of a TE in the NFL, he could be a major undervalued TE in 2013.

If Davis can stay healthy he will be a TE1
