The Saints got a mix of good news and possibly bad news on the health of their receiving corps Monday. The good news is that No. 1 wideout Marques Colston was taken off the Physically Unable to Perform list and was on the practice field. However, he was limited to just individual drills. Colston had been on the PUP list since the start of training camp because of a foot injury.
The news on wide receiver Joseph Morgan may be bad, but we don't know yet. Morgan suffered a knee injury during Saturday's scrimmage. He didn't practice today, and he will seek a second opinion on the knee. There has been no clarification on the extent of the injury.
Colston remains a solid WR2. Don't be surprised if he is limited throughout camp.
Morgan is the team's best deep threat right now and a deep fantasy sleeper. There's no doubt that his injury was a factor in the Saints signing of Steve Breaston earlier today. Losing Morgan for a substantial amount of time wouldn't be big fantasy news by itself. But it would hurt New Orleans' ability to open up space for the short-to-intermediate routes that Lance Moore, Darren Sproles, Jimmy Graham, and Colston all run.
