As Eagles WR Riley Cooper returns to team, WR Arrelious Benn suffers season-ending injury

Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper @RileyCooper_14 returned to practice Tuesday after a four-day excused absence, and he will play Friday against the Patriots. There was a swell of voices who wanted Cooper released by the Eagles after his racist comments found viral fame last week. For a time, it seemed like there was a decent possibility that Cooper would receive his walking papers. But it's doubtful that such an event will take place now, because the Eagles are running dangerously low on healthy wide receivers.
The latest Eagles wideout felled is Arrelious Benn @ArreliousBenn, who tore the ACL in his left knee during practice today. He is obviously finished for the season. Benn tore the same ACL in 2010.
And there's more: Wide receiver Damaris Johnson had to leave the practice early because of a hamstring injury. Its severity is unknown.

Fantasy Analysis:

No matter what his teammates think of him, it's clear that the Eagles won't be moving Cooper. He was working with the first-team offense on his first day back. He will have to compete against Russell Shepard for the No. 2 WR job. At least DeSean Jackson is having a solid camp, because everything else has gone terribly wrong for the Eagles at that position. Instead of talking up Jason Avant or Cooper, known commodities with low ceilings, I think there's a good possibility that LeSean McCoy and rookie tight end Zach Ertz pick up a lot of the production lost through the Eagles' season-ending injuries. Ertz is an interesting TE2.
Benn's future in this league is murky.
