A couple of Ravens who are fantasy sleepers this year didn't make it through the team's first preseason game unscathed. Running back Bernard Pierce was sporting a knee wrap as he left Raymond James Stadium last night. Wide receiver Deonte Thompson limped off the field during the first half of the game and was seen later wearing a soft boot on his left foot.
According to the Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson, Pierce should be fine. Thompson injury is considered more serious, but it's unknown how long he will be out of action.
Pierce's draft stock is unchanged. He is Ray Rice's handcuff, but he'll be a major contributor to this offense all season. He is an RB4 and one of the best backup running backs to draft.
Thompson is one of the top contenders to open the season as the Ravens' No. 2 WR. He is an outstanding athlete and closing in on Jacoby Jones . Stating the obvious, the Ravens can ill afford to lose Thompson for an extended period of time. We'll pass along an update when we know more about his injury.
