Jets RBs Chris Ivory, Joe McKnight return to practice

The Jets player with the highest fantasy ceiling for this season finally returned to practice Sunday. Running back Chris Ivory @ivory33 took part in some individual drills. He had not practiced at all since July 31 because of a hamstring injury. Ivory is expected to advance to team drills later this week with the hope that he will play Saturday versus the Jaguars.
Running back Joe McKnight @OfficialJoeJet was also present during Sunday's practice, albeit in a non-contact jersey. McKnight had been held out since Aug. 2 because of a concussion. McKnight still hasn't been cleared to practice fully, and he refused to speculate when that time will come.
"I'm not getting into that right now," McKnight said. "I'm going to wait until the doctors tell me I'm cleared, but it feels good to be back on the field."

Fantasy Analysis:

But the story here is Ivory since McKnight is not even guaranteed to make the final roster.
Ivory says he is a three-down running back, but his career so far hints that he may not be able to take on that kind of workload. Besides his limitations as a receiver, Ivory seems to be always nicked up. He was a very good runner in spurts during his three years with the Saints, but he dealt with knee, foot, shoulder and hamstring injuries. Now this. If I was the Jets, I would take it very slowly with Ivory. If he does play this weekend, it would be for no more than a few plays. He looks to be their best offensive weapon, and they need to do whatever possible to get him to opening day at full strength. Injury concerns and all, Ivory remains a low-end RB2 in standard leagues.
