Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles was sore on Tuesday, one day after suffering a foot injury during practice. But he was seen walking around without a visible limp and as Chiefs trainer Rick Burkholder tells it, Charles should be feeling good again in short order.
"His ankle ligaments were fine," Burkholder said of Charles. "He had some pain on the outside bone of his foot. We did an X-ray. That was negative. There's a tendon that attaches right at that spot and that's what is sore right now. That's why we call it a strain."
Burkholder also ruled out a Lisfranc sprain, and two orthopedic surgeons who examined Charles agreed that he has a mild foot strain.
Knile Davis is getting the first-team reps while Charles is out, so if you're looking for a handcuff in this situation, there you go. But the injury shouldn't alter Charles' fantasy value greatly. He is still a top-six RB with incredible potential, especially in PPR leagues.
