Denver Post writer says Broncos should consider starting RB Knowshon Moreno

Another preseason game down and it doesn't feel like we are any closer to finding out who will be the Broncos' starting running back on Sept. 5. Both of the top contenders, Ronnie Hillman @MrHillman2U and Montee Ball, had good and bad moments Saturday night versus the Rams.
Hillman got his third start of the preseason and averaged more than five yards per carry, but he also lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown for the second consecutive game. Ball gained 70 yards and a touchdown on 16 touches, but he continued to show that he needs a lot of work as a receiver and blocker.
So, should the Broncos turn to a three-man backfield soon? Mark Kiszla, a Denver Post columnist who has lived in the area for 30 years, says yes
"Knowshon Moreno @knowshonmoreno, one of those much-maligned first-round draft choices of former coach Josh McDaniels, might not be an inspirational choice to start the season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, but his experience probably would allow coach John Fox the least reason to stare with apprehension at the ceiling at night," Kiszla wrote.
Moreno gained 75 yards on eight touches on Saturday.

Fantasy Analysis:

Moreno is a better pass catcher and blocker than Ball. And while Hillman has fumbled three times in a seven-day span, Moreno has fumbled twice since the end of the 2010 season. However, he barely got any run with the first-team offense on Saturday, and it seems clear that the team still wants either Ball or Hillman to get the majority of the ground-game work. However, both players have obvious flaws, which mean this will probably be an even committee for a number of weeks until one of those backs cleans us his mistakes. I don't expect Moreno to get more than a handful of carries per game.
