Broncos RB Montee Ball sees more time with first-team offense

There is reason for those of you who spent a third or fourth-round pick on Montee Ball to make him your RB2 to be optimistic: He received a noticeable amount of reps with the first-team offense during Monday's practice. Ronnie Hillman @MrHillman2U had been getting most of the carries with the first team, but he is coming off his second consecutive preseason game with a lost fumble.
However, Broncos head coach John Fox said that he wouldn't read too much into the practice distribution and he explained the change as the team just wanting to see Ball work more with the starters.

Fantasy Analysis:

Hillman remains listed at the top of the Broncos' running back depth chart, so yeah. However, I have to believe that Hillman's next fumble -- especially if it occurs within the next few weeks -- will cost him meaningful playing time. If anything, this could be more evidence that the Broncos are ready employ an evenly split backfield committee, and I guess we can't forget about Knowshon Moreno @knowshonmoreno either. I like this situation less and less as the days go by.

Peyton in an interview yesterday praised Ball's work ethic. He went on to say that he continues to learn and even though he may be susceptable to rookie mishaps he considers him an excellent player. He reiterated he was happy Ball was studying diligently and even calling him at all hours with questions. Read into it what you may but for my money Ball is your starter.
