Adrian Peterson will be without his top security escort for the first three games of the regular season. The NFL announced Monday that Vikings fullback Jerome Felton has been suspended for three games for a violation of its substance abuse policy. Two sources have told USA Today's Tom Pelissero that the suspension stems from Felton's arrest in June of 2012 for suspicion of DUI. The charge was later pleaded down to reckless driving. Felton rates as one of the league's best lead blocker and was clearing the way for Peterson throughout his historic 2012 season.
It's a significant loss, but it's not like you are going to downgrade Peterson. Felton will be eligible to return to the Vikings' roster on Sept. 23. Undrafted rookie Zach Line is the second-string fullback in Minnesota.
