Update (8-29): Another preseason injury with regular season implications: Giants RB Andre Brown fractured his leg against New England on Thursday during the Giants final preseason game. NY Daily News beat writer Ralph Vacchiano notes that the injury appears to be with the same left leg Brown broke last season. No immediate word on any timeframe, but expect Brown to miss a a good chunk of the season, though following the game he said the injury is "not as serious as it was last year."
For now, goodbye to Mr. Brown, plus his plummeting and essentially non-existent draft value and hello to David Wilson 's rankings rise. Even though the exciting Wilson, already a top-20 fantasy RB, emerged as the Giants lead runner, both backs were expected to be heavily involved in New York's offense. The second-year back finished preseason with 179 yards on 24 carries while hauling in seven receptions. Now with no major threats to steal touches at least for a while, expect Wilson's ADP to rise. Da'Rei Scott and Ryan Torian are now the primary backups. Neither is handcuff worthy until further notice. Suddenly, tabbing Wilson late in the second round is no longer a stretch.
