The Tim Tebow era is over in New England before it really began as the Patriots cut the polarizing passer on Saturday. Tebow labored throughout the preseason, completing only 7 of 18 passes for 90 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Incumbent Ryan Mallett remains the backup quarterback behind Tom Brady.
Not even the former Heisman Trophy winner's magical powers could keep him on the patriots 53-man roster. Will he find a spot on another team's roster is the question. The initial thought is not likely, at least not for now. The left-handed Tebow's running style is an awkward fit for most teams, making for a sizeable adjustment if called upon. Oh, then there is this: Tebow just isn't that good. Should he ever return as a starting QB, he makes for a formidable option because of his running ways, but don't count on it anytime soon.
