No more Boston Te-bow party: Patriots release QB Tim Tebow

The Tim Tebow @TimTebow era is over in New England before it really began as the Patriots cut the polarizing passer on Saturday. Tebow labored throughout the preseason, completing only 7 of 18 passes for 90 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Incumbent Ryan Mallett @Ryan_Mallett_15 remains the backup quarterback behind Tom Brady.

Fantasy Analysis:

Not even the former Heisman Trophy winner's magical powers could keep him on the patriots 53-man roster. Will he find a spot on another team's roster is the question. The initial thought is not likely, at least not for now. The left-handed Tebow's running style is an awkward fit for most teams, making for a sizeable adjustment if called upon. Oh, then there is this: Tebow just isn't that good. Should he ever return as a starting QB, he makes for a formidable option because of his running ways, but don't count on it anytime soon.

Regardless of how people feel about Tebow, the football season will be less interesting if he isn't dressed out.

The bottom line remains as it always has- it doesn't matter if you are charismatic or an "odd ball"- all that matters if you can deliver the pumpkin to the end zone. Tebow, under the right circumstances, could do it- but only under the right circumstances. QBs need to be CONSISTENT and Tebow is consistently BAD. Sorry Tebow fans- his 15 minutes are finally over!

Tim Tebow, for some reason, seems to me like he could do a Doug Flutie... spend a few successful years in the CFL and come back as a serviceable QB...

@Bucky Katt comments on the NFL... "Howls of derisive laughter, Bruce..."
Made my day, hope you posting on the interwebs doesn't rile up the ferrets... or Pinkish...
As far as Tebow, he has different issues than Flutie did... When Tebow moves around the backfield, the word that comes to my mind is 'lumbering'... His foot work is like Herman Munster's.
