Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall was clearly frustrated when speaking last week about the recovery from his third hip surgery. But after a checkup with doctors, Marshall and his fantasy owners have nothing to worry about. Marshall said Monday that doctors told him that the hip "is great" and in "great shape." He has returned to practice after missing some time last week to make sure the hip was sound.
Bears general manager Phil Emery said he thinks Marshall can be even better than last year. I kind of roll my eyes at that, because 118-catch, 1,500-yard, and 11-touchdown seasons aren't exactly the norm in the NFL; they are exceptional. New head coach Marc Trestman should help improve this offense as a whole, and that will probably lead to Marshall's numbers dipping just slightly from what he put up in 2012. He is still a top-five wideout.
