Boston Globe writer guesses Patriots TE Zach Sudfeld could play 30-40 snaps Sunday

Patriots rookie tight end Zach Sudfeld @zachsudfeld won't play on every down Sunday against the Bills, but he may play enough to be worth a start in 12-team fantasy leagues. Boston Globe NFL writer Ben Volin was asked Tuesday on Twitter what he thought about Sudfeld in Week 1 and if he will start.
"Maybe 30-40 snaps?" Volin responded.

Fantasy Analysis:

All we can do is guess. The Patriots won't be saying an interesting word about how often Sudfeld will play. He is a bit of a risk at that snap count, but he is a talented player who will most likely be one of Tom Brady's first three looks when on the field. And don't forget that the Patriots put up 89 points in two games against the Bills last year. There should be plenty of offense to go around for all of Brady's top targets.

Is Zach Sudfeld worth starting in a 12 team PPR league?

There is safer options available on the wire, Pettigrew, Ed Dickson, Brent Celek, Julius Thomas...

But I have a gut feeling that Sudfeld will be big, even if only playing 30-40 snaps.

If you are asking to start one of those 4 chumps over Sudfeld in a TE heavy offense against BUF this weekend, then NO. He is as good a week 1 TE out there I think, minus the obvious Graham. Thomas may surprise eventually but not out of the gate. sudfeld will trash the Bills.

Sudfeld or Cook? I started Sudfeld. Can I trust Belacheck?
