The Lions' offseason signing of Reggie Bush looked like a move that perfectly fit their offense. And it looked just about perfect in Week 1 as Bush ran 21 times for 90 yards and caught four of his eight targets for another 101 yards. But Bush also finished the game with a couple of things he'd rather not have: injuries.
Bush pulled a groin muscle and dislocated his left thumb during the first quarter.
"[My] thumb's all right," Bush said. "It'll probably start killing me in a little bit once everything wears off. I dislocated it early in the first quarter and it was facing the wrong direction.
"They just popped it back in. Thankfully I was able to tape it up and carry the ball in my right hand."
Bush played in 31 of 32 regular-season games while with the Dolphins, but we can't completely forget about his injury-prone years with the Saints. Joique Bell , who scored two short-yardage touchdowns and gained 92 scrimmage yards versus the Vikings, needs to be owned in all leagues. Not only as Bush's handcuff, but also because it's clear that he is the Lions' goal-line running back, not Mikel Leshoure , who was a healthy scratch. Even if Bush stays healthy, Bell has easy flex value in PPR leagues. And if Bush can stay healthy, it looks like he will be an RB1 in this offense.
