Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer will start Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings. Hoyer has seen limited playing time over the years, primarily as a backup while with the New England Patriots.
Regular starter Brandon Weeden is currently dealing with a sprained thumb on his throwing hand. It was originally believed that Jason Campbell would start in place of Weeden; however, Hoyer has won the opportunity. Starting Greg Little or the back-from-suspension Josh Gordon feels high-risk. On the other hand, checkdown threat Jordan Cameron could see an extra target or two and frankly, he's been too hot to sit. While it's easy to say the Browns could run the ball more with Trent Richardson, that will be dictated more by the score of the game rather than a specific gameplan.
