Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said Wedensday that running back Eddie Lacy is looking good despite suffering a concussion Sunday. McCarthy said Lacy has been attending meetings and "making progress." But that won't mean much to his fantasy owners for this week. McCarthy named James Starks as his starting running back for Sunday's game versus the Bengals. He said Starks "can run as many times as you need him."
John Kuhn didn't practice Wednesday because of a hamstring injury, and rookie Johnathan Franklin appears to be in the doghouse for the moment, so Starks could get a boat load of touches. However, the Bengals have a top-10 rush defense and limited Matt Forte to just 50 yards on 19 carries in Week 1. Starks is a low-end RB2 for now, and he'll become a backup once again when Lacy likely returns after the team's Week-4 bye.
