San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham has plans to turn to practice leading up to Week 7. The former New York Giants pass-catcher's career has derailed over the last year after tearing his left knee's ACL and PCL. The 49ers are very thin at his position, after dealing with Michael Crabtree 's Achilles' injury and the trade of 2012 first round pick A.J. Jenkins to Kansas City.
The sooner Manningham can return the better, but that's assuming he's all the way back and ready to play. He has been a No. 2 receiver for most of his career, so the impact may not be a radical change. However, the 49ers need all the help they can get to play alongside Anquan Boldin and take pressure away from the line of scrimmage.
