A source had an interesting tidbit for the Boston Globe's Ben Volin on Friday regarding Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and wide receiver Danny Amendola .
"As of today, they are playing," the source told Volin. "But a lot of time between now and Sunday night."
Both players were limited in Friday's practice and are officially questionable for their Week 4 game against the Falcons.
The reports on Gronkowski and Amendola have been all over the place this week. We heard earlier that Amendola's groin injury was healing, but he probably wouldn't play this week. We've seen both sides of the coin with Gronkowski, with one reporter saying "he's probably ready to play" and another sourcing that the chances of him playing this week are "not optimistic."
My advice to you is to take yourself out of the guessing game. Unless you own a tight end such as Charles Clay or Tony Gonzalez or a wide receiver such as Brian Hartline or Julian Edelman and can afford to wait until Sunday night when we will know Gronkowski and Amendola's playing status for sure, place them on your bench. It's way too risky to just put them into your lineup now and risk a fat zero in your box score.
