Bills running backs C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson are in a race against a short clock to play Thursday versus the Browns. Both players came up with injuries on Sunday; Spiller suffered a sprained ankle, and Jackson sprained an MCL in his knee. After the game, Spiller said "it's going to be tough" for him to get healthy on a short week, but "If I can go out there at least 85 or 90, I'm going to play."
Jackson was a little more optimistic about his availability for the next game. He said his injury is "something we can manage, and I expect to play."
Both players hobbled through the second half of Sunday's win over the Ravens and will likely be very limited during the modified practice week. Tashard Choice is next in line on Buffalo's running back depth chart. He should at least be added in the event that Spiller and Jackson can't answer the bell in about 96 hours, although the Browns have shown that their run defense is pretty good.
