Arizona has agreed in principle to trade left offensive tackle Levi Brown to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Last night, Jacksonville traded their left tackle Eugene Monroe to the Ravens.
Two offensive tackles traded to the AFC North in a 24-hour period. That's not a common thing. Arizona wasn't satisfied with Brown and had been using him in a bit of a rotation. Even if that sounds nice, it's undesirable for the NFL and what Arizona wants to do. Same can be said for Jacksonville and their interests in retaining Monroe. After drafting Luke Joeckel with the second overall pick in the 2013 Draft, the writing was on the wall that he would eventually move over to the left side. That time is now. These moves really help Pittsburgh and Baltimore. The Steelers line had been atrocious and any warm body will do at this point. Baltimore wanted more from LT Bryant McKinnie, but that obviously did not pan out. Both Brown and Monroe will be asked to contribute immediately.
