Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was well on his way to a monster game Sunday against the Giants. But as has often been the case in his career, an injury got in the way. Vick suffered a hamstring injury at the end of a 13-yard gain during the second quarter, grabbing his left hamstring as he ran out of bounds. Vick stayed in for a few more plays, but Nick Foles replaced him just before the half and finished the game.
Howard Eskin of FOX 29 in Philadelphia wrote Sunday night on Twitter that "Vick is likely out at least next wk against Tampa and Maybe 2 weeks."
Vick will get an MRI on Monday. He ended Sunday with 105 passing yards and 79 rushing yards. Foles completed 16 of 25 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns.
We should know more about this on Monday. If you own Vick, hopefully you paid enough attention to history and locked up a solid backup; you had to have known Vick couldn't stay healthy for the long haul. Foles looked good today, but that did come against an awful Giants defense. Foles is on the radar if you have bye-week problems or are in a two-quarterback league. At least he showed Sunday that he can perform the most important function of the Eagles' passing game (at least in the minds of fantasy owners) just fine: Get the ball to DeSean Jackson .
