Despite being sat down late against the San Francisco 49ers after throwing three interceptions, Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub will remain the starter. Head coach Gary Kubiak told reporters after the game that Schaub was still the team's No. 1, ahead of backup T.J. Yates . Schaub actually set an NFL record by throwing a pick-six for the fourth consecutive game.
The Texans have lost three straight games, leaving the AFC South wide open with the Colts in the early lead. Not to be too hard on Schaub, but the Texans were never going to win a Super Bowl under his leadership. He is and has always been a great game-manager on his best days and a lukewarm salad with no dressing on every other day. He's never thrown 30 TDs in a season and his best days came during Andre Johnson 's prime and before the arrival of Arian Foster . If "good enough" is good enough, Schaub's your guy.
