Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley said Monday that quarterback Blaine Gabbert is "week to week" with his hamstring injury, and he won't play Sunday against the Broncos. Chad Henne, who played most of the second half in relief of an injured Gabbert against the Rams in Week 5, will get the start. Henne completed 7 of 13 passes for 89 yards and a score in that game.
This is good news for the Jaguars, bad news for every fantasy owner who was getting used to blindly starting only defenses that play Jacksonville. We've seen enough of Gabbert to know that Henne gives the Jags a better chance of being competitive. There will still be plenty of errors from Henne, especially behind a decimated offensive line. Gabbert's hamstring injury may cost him extended time as he reportedly heard the muscle "pop." The change to Henne is good for Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon . They will be taking part in what could be the mother of junk-time games this Sunday in Denver.
