Houston Texans tight end Owen Daniels was diagnosed with a non-displaced fibula fracture and will miss anywhere from four to six weeks. His teammate, Garrett Graham , will start in his place and rookie Ryan Griffin will be in during two-TE sets.
Daniels does have an injury history. This is a big loss to an offense that is already lacking in proven pass-catchers who can move the chains. Houston seems to fluctuate second options on a weekly basis behind Andre Johnson . Some weeks, it's Daniels. Some weeks, it's DeAndre Hopkins or guys like Kevin Walter or Jacoby Jones before him. Graham is an excellent free agent pick-up, especially since he already accounted for three touchdowns during the first four games of the year.
